Notes: Grass, wood, bread
We are happy to say that the wood that helped Oudimentary start an aloeswood-burning revolution stateside in 2004 is back and better than ever. We couldn’t be happier.
Hailing from the largest province of the Republic of Indonesia, Oudimentary’s our Irian Jaya wood has that classic East Indonesian kick.
If you haven’t used any East Indonesian woods before, you are in for a real treat. The species is Gyrinops rather than the usual Aquilaria of mainland South East Asia. The aloeswood from Gyrinops are a world away from typical Cambodi and Lao woods, with not much sweetness or usual tones of dried fruit, etc.
Our IJ wood is a much more grassy burn, and an almost bread-like top notes.
